Laboratories


The Near East University, Faculty of Medicine, with its idealistic and innovative structure, is rapidly increasing its reputation and keeps improving itself as the most important Faculty of Medicine in the region. Basic science education and research facilities are located in a four-story building. Besides of lecture halls and laboratories where theoritical and practical education of undergraduate students is conducted, the faculty building also includes office areas reserved for the academic personnel.

The anatomy laboratory in the -1 floor of the building can house 120 students to study same model and cadaver at the same time. The faculty building also includes 2 “good medical practive” laboratories, each with capacity of 30 students; 3 physiology research laboratories; a general research laboratory; and a multidisciplinary (Biochemistry, Physiology, Pathology and Microbiology) laboratory with a total capacity of 100 students. Education laboratories are well-equipped and include equipments such as educational microscopes (for each student), centrifuges, and spectrophotometers. The main laboratory also includes a computer-linked microscope that can project the image by projector to enable the observation of microscopic slides by both laboratory supervisors and students, simulatenously. Instructors and five technicians are involved in the preparation and implementation of the laboratory practical teaching.
