In 2012, he received his M.D. degree from the Ege University Faculty of Medicine. During his medical education, he completed a clinical rotation in the field of dermatology at the University of Chicago in the USA for one month. After completing his medical education and then being successful in the Medical Specialization Examination, he served at the Istanbul Directorate of Public Health at the Department of Cancer for a temporary duty of 2.5 months. Afterwards, he served as a resident doctor for 4.5 years at the Department of Pathology at the Izmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital. He had experience in the fields of surgical pathology such as gastrointestinal, gynecological, breast, urogenital, endocrine, and lung pathology as well as in other specialized fields such as dermatopathology, hematopathology, neuropathology, nephropathology, and cytopathology at the Izmir Ataturk Training and Research Hospital, which accepts about 50.000 surgical and cytological specimens annually. In 2013, he founded the Resident Committee under the auspices of the European Society of Pathology and brought together young pathologists from many countries and served as the coordinator of the Education & Research group and Turkey’s representative of this committee for two years. He worked as a vice-chair of the Resident Committee of the Federation of Pathology Societies and as a representative of the Society of Aegean Pathology during which he worked on finding solutions to the issues that he residents of pathology encounter and providing better conditions of education. In 2016, obtaining a grant by the TUBITAK, he conducted research projects on brain tumors for about 1.5 years in Turkey and 6 months at the University of California, San Francisco. Besides, he has gained experience in the field of neuropathology as he was working with esteemed scientists, many of whom are the authors of the classification of the central nervous system tumors published by the World Health Organization. In his thesis, he carried out biomarker studies in breast carcinomas which is his another area of interest. In 2018, he has started serving as a pathologist and lecturer at the Department of Pathology at the Near East University Faculty of Medicine. He has been continuing to his academic and educational activities as an Assistant Professor since the beginning of 2019.
