ACADEMIC / PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Associate Professor Özlem Dalmızrak received her BSc. degree from the Ankara University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology in 1998, MSc. degree from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biochemistry in 2001 and PhD degree in 2008 from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biochemistry. During her PhD education she worked at Thomas Jefferson University, Kimmel Cancer Center, Department of Cancer Biology (2004-2006) as a visiting scientist with NATO A2 scholarship. She was appointed to Near East University, Faculty of Medicine in 2008. She served as an Assistant Professor between 2011-2012 at Near East University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biochemistry. Currently, she has been serving as Associate Professor at the same department. Since the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine, she has served as Phase I and II Assistant Coordinator and Phase I and II Coordinator. She has been serving as Phase I Coordinator since 2014. She took part in the organization of 22. International Congress of Clinical Chemistry & Laboratory Medicine (IFCC WorldLab) and 41. Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) congress as a scientific secretary.
Her research mainly focuses on enzyme purification and kinetics, oxidative stress, mitochondrial DNA and related disorders, insulin-like growth factor receptor-I mediated signal transduction pathway and cancer. She has published several articles in international and national journals, participated in international and national meetings with oral/poster presentations. She worked in the projects supported by TUBITAK and H.Ü. Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit. She serves as a Section Editor of Turkish Journal of Biochemistry.
