NEAR EAST UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF MEDICINE AND DEAN OF STUDENTS HOSTED THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CONGRESS WITH THE THEME “MIGRATION AND HEALTH”
Near East University Faculty of Medicine and Dean of Students’ Office hosted the second International Student Congress organised with the theme of “Migration and Health”, bringing together medical students and experts in the field of medicine.
The congress, which will take place between 25-27 April 2024, was held at the Atatürk Culture and Congress Center of Near East University and 580 participants, 19 sessions, 16 selected papers, 4 conferences were held at the congress, which evaluated the effects of migration on health from the perspective of medical students. The congress brought together academicians, researchers and students specialised in the field of immigration and health services around the world and provided information sharing and interaction.
The congress held between 25-27 April 2024 started with the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Gamze Mocan, Dean of Near East University Faculty of Medicine
Prof.Dr. Nesrin ÇOBANOĞLU YÜKSEL made a speech titled “Migration and Women in terms of Medical Ethics”.
Int.Dr. Okan ERDEMSİZ and Int.Dr. Suğde Aktun made opening speeches at the congress.
Our student Tamara AL-BARQ received the best paper award with her paper titled ‘Male Lifestyle Habits and IVF Outcomes: The Effects of Alcohol and Smoking on Sperm Characteristics and Pregnancy Rates’ and received the best paper award from Prof. Dr. Gamze Mocan, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
Experimental Animal Manipulation Workshop was carried out by Prof.Dr.Fazilet AKSU, Veterinarian Meliha TEMİZEL, Research Assistant Sonia EBRAHİMİ and student Amirmohammad AHMADI.
Airline Management Workshop was held by Dr. Uğur ÖZKULA and our student Yağmur HAZAR.
Cognitive and Sensory Ear Workshop was carried out by Prof.Dr.Murat ÖZGÖREN, Assoc.Dr.Gonca İNANÇ, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat ÖZGÖREN, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gonca İNANÇ, Assoc. Prof. Ebru KÖSEMİHAL and student Cansu KATIRCI.
The 2nd International Student Congress of Near East University Faculty of Medicine was crowned with success.
