Near East University Faculty of Medicine’s 2025–2026 Fall Semester “White Coat Ceremony” Marks the First Step of Future Doctors into Their Profession with Pride and Excitement
The “White Coat Ceremony” of the Near East University Faculty of Medicine was held at the Faculty of Medicine.
Future doctors, stepping into a new academic year, participated in the traditional ritual that symbolizes both their professional commitment and responsibilities by donning their white coats. The ceremony, which began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, was held with a large turnout. The opening speeches were delivered by Near East University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Umut Aksoy and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Gamze Mocan.
After the speeches, all first-year students recited the Student Oath together with Prof. Dr. Gamze Mocan and then put on their white coats.
Prof. Dr. Umut Aksoy: “At the core of medicine always lie science, reason, and ethics.”
Prof. Dr. Gamze Mocan: “I wholeheartedly believe that you will truly honor the white coat, the symbol of honesty and purity.”
